Description

SYNOPSIS: Two sisters, Kellie and Lannie, see their single mother killed by her boyfriend during an argument when they are 13 and 14 years old. They are sent to live with an uncle (their mother's brother), and soon detest his wife since she gives preferential treatment to her son and resents their being in her home. Violence is the only way the two sisters know how to handle problems, so they kill the aunt. Their uncle promptly takes them out of his home because he fears for his son's safety. The two sisters are placed in a sanitarium and diagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder, which is a form of manic depression. After five years, the two sisters are now 18 and 19 years old and released from the sanitarium because "they are better," see their uncle has sold the home they lived in, and go to college (California University). At the university classmates like Kellie, but have difficulty with Lannie. Since Lannie and Kellie are very close, Lannie becomes jealous of Kellie's being able to make friends. Violence is how she deals with the problems. - Original Screenplay by: Terri Dawn Arnold

    Thanks Kneko!

I'm glad you enjoyed watching THE TWO SISTERS. I am thrilled about how you totally got the points I was trying to make.

Before writing the screenplay, I did not know any bi-polar people. Now I have spoken with some bi-polar individuals, and they said I was right on. I actually wrote the story first, and then at the advice of a friend (Celeste Yarnall, who plays "Nurse Louise") I contacted a psychologist (the film's consultant, Charlotte Houston, Ph.D.), and put in the illness to make the movie more realistic.

Some have told me that they think THE TWO SISTERS is a true story (including Brinke Stevens who plays "Professor Davis"), but I get most of my ideas from dreams I have and this movie is one of them.

Drama-rama! These sister are seriously psycho, but at the same time vulnerable. You really want to like Kellie, because she's really trying to get past their trauma. But, self destruction rules them, especially Lannie. The film really draws you in. I just wanna know how Terri came up with this idea!
